Columbia County Office of Emergency Management

I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know; the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve.

--- Albert Schweitzer

Thank you for visiting the Columbia County Citizen Corps Council website.

Volunteering is about giving, contributing and helping other individuals and the community. Volunteering means working with others to make a meaningful contribution to a better Columbia County.  Every volunteer does work that makes a tangible difference.  Volunteers work hard and get things done for Columbia County.

Our office depends on volunteers, especially during a disaster.  In addition to the missions enumerated on the ARES, CERT, and MRC pages, Citizen Corps volunteers are needed to help man the Emergency Operations Center and to be members of our IMAT (Incident Mangement Assistance Team).

Columbia County Emergency Management relies heavily on an integrated, highly trained, effectively deployed, and optimally utilized volunteer workforce.

We recognize that the qualifications, professionalism, and broad experience that exists amongst our volunteers improves our ability to protect life and property in Columbia County.

Take a look around and contact your Columbia County Citizen Corps Council to find out how you can serve your fellow citizens.

I'd like to thank our volunteers without whom we could not be successful, and I encourage you to join us.
